Our History

Stars, Mars & More Director:

Dr. Nicholas Platco has worked professionally teaching astronomy and earth science and holds a Doctorate of Education Degree from Temple University. He also has over twenty years experience using portable planetariums in teaching astronomy from pre-school through the college level. Additionally, he developed and implemented the Penn State Aerospace camp for the Boy Scouts of America and is an active member of the Chesmont Astronomical Society.  Dr. Nicholas Platco is currently an astronomy instructor for Penn State University (Berks Campus).

Assistant Director:

Donna Platco holds a Bachelor’s Degree in Elementary Education and has worked professionally teaching pre-school through fifth grade as well as experience as an academic reading tutor.
